Hotels

Bishopstrow House

Warminster BA12 9HH, UK – 01985 212312

We have just returned from an amazing short stay at Bishopstrow. A great place to unwind and although the spa is brilliant on its own, the whole place had a relaxing feel to it. We wanted for nothing and the staff were brilliant. A particular mention must be made to the staff in the restaurant who gave Breakfast, lunch and dinner a great atmosphere.

A very beautiful non hotel feeling hotel. Has a very peaceful atmosphere, friendly, attentive staff. Reception is in a side room which is great as a normal desk would completely spoil the stunning entrance to this delightful building. Best of all is the outside pool, a fabulous way to wake up and earn the delicious breakfast on offer. We have been upgraded to a suite twice.

Rye Hill

Rye Hill, Wheelers Ln, Warminster BA12 9LP, UK – 07711 581851

I stayed here this week and would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in Warminster. My room was clean, spacious and comfy. I had a great nights sleep. The freshly cooked breakfast in the morning was really nice and i was made to feel very welcome. Also, the town centre is only a few minutes away and easy to get to, which for me was a bonus.

Lovely, nice owners.

Pubs, Gastro Pubs and Bars

The Woolpack

31 High St, Sutton Veny, Warminster BA12 7AW, UK – 01985 840834

Really friendly owners and bar staff. Great food, well priced and tasty, great ambience. Highly recommend having a meal there, I've been a few times, never disappointed

Lovely meal. Foid and service both very good.

Bath Arms

Clay St, Crockerton BA12 8AJ, UK – 01985 212262

Just finished a scrumptious meal so had to rate this pretty place. I had the sticky beef which was slow cooked to perfection in a red wine style sauce with tasty creamy mash. My husband had a huge beast of a burger that looked like it was freshly made. Our children all had good sized meals and food was of high quality. This place is 4 hours from home for us as we are on holiday but a great find that we stumbled across by mistake. Yum! Thank you

This is one of my favourite pubs. The food is excellent - I have tried nearly everything on the menu over the years and cannot fault it. The bitter beer (would like to say real ale but I am no expert) is well kept and served at a nice temperature. Finally and most importantly the staff are always polite, friendly and welcoming. I come here often and highly recommend it.

The Snooty Fox

1 Brook St, Warminster BA12 8DN, UK – 01985 846505

Cath & Dean will listen to any criticism or praise you wish to make. I didn't like there chips, I said it was the only thing that let there food down. So what did they do? I'll tell you, they changed supplier. My go to pub with quality food, quality staff and quality owners.. Keep on doing what you do best 👍

Wonderful intimate pub in Warminster. It has an l shaped bar and plenty of tables but it is advisable to book in the evenings. The food is fresh and beautifully presented as you can see in the photos. Most dishes are modern continental although a couple of Oriental influenced dishes were also on the menu.

Travel Super Market search and compare prices for hotels all over the world. Could also be useful for you. I This said I was told by a hotelier that the way to get cheap rooms is to ring up the week before and ask for the weekend rate. You can usually get an absolute bargain as they will trying to book all the rooms that they have not sold! Could be worth a try!

Deverill End

Deverill Rd, Sutton Veny, Warminster BA12 7BY, UK – 01985 840356

Lovely spot, beautiful family home with a charming couple. Lovely room with ensuite. Highly recommended

Our second visit and every bit as good as the first. This is the perfect home from home and is the ideal place to stay when visiting Longleat. The hosts are extremely pleasant and welcome you to their home as old friends, afternoon tea is provided on arrival, and can be enjoyed on the terrace in the beautiful garden whilst enjoying the peace and quiet of the Wiltshire countryside. The rooms are clean, comfortable and have everything you need, breakfast is freshly cooked to order including fresh eggs from Joy and Sim's hens in the garden and fresh fruit compotes made from fruits also from the garden. If you are looking for an old-fashioned guest experience, even to the point of turning down the beds, look no further, this is a family home that has been graciously opened to their guests, Sim and Joy care about their visitors having a good stay; they will happily book tickets for you (with a generous 30% discount for Longleat day tickets or book a table at the delightful Woolpack inn for dinner, they are full of information about the local area and it's attractions.

Boreham Manor

If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!
